Fuller (Alvan T.) Cadillac Building is built.

1928

Architect: Albert Kahn. It is located at 808 Commonwealth Avenue. The unusually lavish car dealership is initially called “Fuller’s Folly,” but attracts other dealers to the area and spurs development of what comes to be called the “Automobile Row” along Commonwealth Avenue. It closes on March 1, 1978. The building is subsequently purchased by Boston University and is home to its College of Fine Arts and 808 Gallery.
